The BAE Systems Hawk is one of the most successful British jet trainer aircraft ever produced. First built at Kingston upon Thames before later production at Brough, the Hawk earned an outstanding reputation for training generations of military pilots in the UK and around the world.
With more than 1,000 aircraft built and in service across numerous international air arms, the Hawk has become a global benchmark in jet training. It is also widely recognised as the aircraft flown by the Royal Air Force Aerobatic Team, the Red Arrows, making it one of the most familiar and celebrated military aircraft in British aviation.
Featured here are two outstanding video presentations by Chris Hodson, each focusing on a historically important Hawk aircraft. The first covers XX154, the prototype and first Hawk ever built, while the second explores Brooklands' G-HAWK (ZA101), the unique Hawk Mk 50 that played a significant role in the aircraft's development and export story.
