Vehicle and Aircraft Recovery After 2000
This playlist documents the evolution of the British vehicle recovery industry since 2000, together with a number of major aircraft recovery, transport and preservation projects. These videos provide a unique behind-the-scenes record of modern recovery operations, industry developments and specialist transport projects. The collection includes a wide range of recovery work together with the transport and preservation of historically important aircraft.
The playlist also documents some of the most significant developments within the recovery industry, including the industry's long campaign to obtain legal approval for the use of rear-facing red flashing warning lights on recovery vehicles. As Chairman of RISC (Recovery Industry Support Charity), Andy Lambert played an active role in this campaign. The collection includes footage of the industry's efforts, public demonstrations and media coverage, including his appearances on BBC Breakfast following the successful outcome. The archive also features recovery industry exhibitions, demonstrations, trade events and examples of how recovery equipment, working practices and safety standards have evolved since 2000.
