This playlist documents the historic rebuilding work at Brooklands Museum, including the relocation of the famous Second World War Wellington Hangar, major museum redevelopment work, and the construction of the new Flight Shed. I was directly involved in the project team responsible for emptying the Wellington Hangar before it was moved, repositioning it, and refilling it afterwards — this included aircraft movement and a large amount of crane work with my two vehicles, Milly and the Brooklands Belle. We also helped stock the new Flight Shed building.
Importantly, this collection includes the only filmed time-lapse video archive of the whole operation. It covers everything from the first aircraft to be moved, right up to the final stage of the Re-Engineering Brooklands project, which was the opening by HRH Prince Michael of Kent.
See also the companion playlist of the Brooklands Museum Archive from 2000 to the present day, and the story of Miss Milly Tant, the recovery vehicle that did much of the crane work you'll see here.
